Core De Force DELUXE MMA Plyo and Core Kinetics
The last 9 days of the Core De Force DELUXE calendar I feel is where the rubber meets the road. All of the Core De Force workouts are challenging but the last nine days are more mentally challenging for me. I see we have an ab workout following our main workout EVERYDAY for the next NINE days. Before starting Core De Force, I have completed many programs with additional ab workouts. I usually have a hard time adding those onto my main workout. It isn’t that my body can’t do it. It is that my mind makes it a bigger deal then it is.
I have said this before in previous blog posts but I will share again that my best advice for getting the ab workout in after our main workout is just NOT to think about it too much. When we think about our ab workout during our main workout, we tend to make it a bigger deal then it is. I try not to take even a 2 minute break between the main workout and ab workout. I don’t want my mind to have time to think I am too tired or drained to complete the ab workout. This seemed to work well from me for this program. It is definitely mind over matter.
I am also going to share advice about the Core De Force ab workouts based on my experience. Do not be afraid to modify when needed! When I first started this program, I had to modify several of the pushup variations in Dynamic Strength. I also had to modify a couple of the ab moves in Core Kinetics and almost every ab move in 5 Minute Core On The Floor. Now, I can do all 3 of these workouts without modifying. I still struggle a little with the singe leg circles in the Core Kinetics workout. I don’t know what it is about that move but sometimes I have to put one foot on the floor.
Modifying doesn’t mean you are getting any less of a workout. Modifying is still challenging! It doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough or a failure. It simply means you know your limits. Staying within those limits will help you to avoid injury. The worst thing we can do is push ourselves too hard, do improper form and end up with an injury that prevents us from working out. That WILL set us back from reaching our goals when modifying workouts based on our current level will not!

My nutrition was off today. Monday’s are usually busy days for me and I didn’t eat enough early on in the day so I was craving junk food at night. I went out and got a pizza and I will be eating a little bit of that everyday until it is gone and I leave for my trip to Michigan for the holidays!
