Core De Force DELUXE Calendar MMA Shred 2.0 & Core Kinetics
Whenever I see MMA Shred and Core Kinetics on the Core De Force calendar, I already know I am in for a challenge that day. The original MMA Shred is a 37-minute long workout with NINE, 3-minute rounds of MMA inspired elbow-knee combinations and spikes. I found out recently that there were TWO new Beachbody On Demand exclusive workouts – MMA Shred 2.0 and MMA Speed 2.0. I decided to replace the original MMA Shred with MMA Shred 2.0 today.
I would say it is just as challenging if not more challenging then the original MMA Shred. Joel Freeman and Jericho McMatthews introduced new elbow-knee combinations so it did take me a bit of time to learn the new moves before I could go all out!
You give it all you’ve got during the spikes to increase your heart rate and then have a chance to catch your breath during the next elbow-knee combination. After you complete the 37 minute workout, you gotta get down on the floor and do 15 minutes of HARD CORE abs. It is challenging but when you set your mind to it, you can do it!
I have said this before and I will say it again, DO NOT take a break in between MMA Shred or MMA Shred 2.0 and Core Kinetics. If you are like me and you give your mind time to think about doing Core Kinetics later, you might just build it up in your mind to be too much that day and not get it done. I transitioned right into Core Kinetics after MMA Shred 2.0 and it seems to work well for me to get it done!
I have noticed I am getting even stronger during my Core Kinetics workout then I was in the first 30 days. I used to have the modify the one legged circular kick but now I can do it almost completely unmodified for both rounds. Jericho McMatthews is a serious bas*** because her form is so good with this move and you never see her modifying. Joel Freeman has great core strength as well but Jericho just has a baby before she created this program. That is pretty darn impressive.
