Why Do The Beachbody Ultimate Reset?

As many of you have seen, I have been traveling a ton this year. In June and July I was in 4 states in just 4 weeks. At the end of June, I took a trip to Seattle to visit a fellow Beachbody Coach. This wasn’t for business but rather for pleasure. In mid-July, I attended the Beachbody Coach Summit in Nashville, which is our annual conference.  At the end of July I went to Indiana for a wedding and then Michigan to see my family for a few days. All of this crazy traveling, not eating right, not sleeping enough, drinking alcohol, and flying on planes lead me to get super sick. I was sick the entire time I was in Nashville for Beachbody Coach Summit and barely enjoyed myself. The cold lasted for 3 weeks. UGH!

Then, in the month of October I earned another free trip to the Beachbody Leadership Retreat in Coronado Bay, California. This is an all-expense paid trip with a 4 night stay at the Coronado Bay Resort. Since, I was already traveling to the west coast for free, I decided to tack on a week long trip to Hawaii, before heading to Coronado, to visit my brother that just moved out there. I also tacked on a trip to Las Vegas on the tail end of the trip to attend the Go Pro Mastery event with Eric Worre and Tony Robbins. Again, I was in 4 states in just 3 weeks. This time at least I didn’t get sick until I came home from my 3-week adventure. The cold again hit me hard and I was in bed for a week.

I had been considering starting the Beachbody Ultimate Reset for a few months but with all the traveling I was doing I couldn’t find a good time. When I returned home from all my travels in October and got sick again, I knew I had to reset my body. All the traveling, poor food choices, lack of sleep, alcohol, flying on planes and time changes had left my energy completely zapped and I had a major sugar addiction.

What Is The Beachbody Ultimate Reset?

So on October 26th, 2015, I decided to embark on the Beachbody Ultimate Reset journey once again. I have completed it twice already but it has been about 2 years since my last reset! This is a 21-day cleanse that helps you detoxify and cleanse your body and reset it to it’s “factory settings” if you will. You slowly remove all animal products from your diet and are following an all vegan diet the last 2 weeks of the cleanse. You can read more about it here.

 

My review of the Beachbody Ultimate Reset Week 1

Today, I am one week into the cleanse and this time has by far been the easiest time. The first time was definitely the hardest. I don’t know if I was more mentally prepared this time but every other time I have done it in the past, I have had a hard time not snacking and “cheating.” I felt like I was hungry all the time. This time I have stuck to it completely 100% for 7 days. I have, however, had Shakeology as an optional snack everyday between lunch and dinner. I think this has helped me not feel so hungry for sure! I created a video diary on day 3 with my review of the Beachbody Ultimate Reset so far.

 

How Can I Prepare For The Beachbody Ultimate Reset?

Be prepared to maybe have a slight headache in the first few days of the reset. Plan to do it when you aren’t bogged down with a million other things in your life and when you can get plenty of rest. You will need lots of time for food prep so be prepared for that as well!  You may experience some mood swings as well. I did on my first reset but less this time because my mood swings were already completed the week before. Don’t workout when you are reseting unless it is walking or gentle Yoga. Your body is already working to cleanse and detoxify. You don’t want it working overtime to repair muscles from exercise! I have been doing Yoga and PiYo on some days so I am still stretching my muscles and getting in some activity. Drink plenty of water, take time for yourself, get a lot of sleep and be gentle with yourself.

My Results From The Beachbody Ultimate Reset Week 1

I took my before pictures, weight and measurements and I have already lost 5 pounds. I wasn’t doing the reset to lose weight but it is an added bonus of reseting. I am doing it to clean all the junk out of my body, resolve my sugar cravings and to gain my energy back. Today, I feel like a million bucks. My energy has been through the roof for the past several days, although it was up and down the first 1-4 days. I am sleeping really well now and my cravings for junk are gone. I still think about non-clean food but I am able to talk myself out of wanting it. I know that it is not a physiologic need for this food but rather totally emotional. I am excited to see what the next 14 days bring!
