What Can You Expect From Shaun Week Insane Focus Insane Basics?

Just a few weeks ago, I completed my first round of Shaun Week and this left me with a good idea of what I was in store for today. This was my second attempt at Insane Basics and I felt a lot stronger this time. Being able to keep up with the warmup was a challenge for me a few weeks ago but today it was no problem.

The workout is made up of 3 different “sections” and each section is made up of 4 different moves. You perform the first 4 moves of the section for 30 seconds each with no breaks in between. Then, he progresses the moves just a tiny bit meaning he makes them more challenging or adds on. In the fitness world he goes from a level 1 to a level 2 and then to a level 3 – if you take group classes you will know what I am talking about.

So 30 seconds of each of the 4 moves at level 1 with no breaks, 30 seconds of each of the 4 moves at level 2 with no breaks and then 30 seconds of each of the moves at level 3 with no breaks. Once you have completed all 3 levels, then you move onto the next “section” of 4 more moves. The first section is standing up, the second section is mostly in the plank position and the 30 section is mostly standing up with 1 ab moves.

I asked my Beachbody Accountability Challenge group what the hardest moves for them were. Believe it or not, for me it was the superman, punching bag, flutter kick. Try to say that 5 times fast! LOL Seriously though, my arms and legs were heavy. A couple of our Beachbody Challengers agreed that this was the hardest move for them.
